I learned of Nia’s editing skill through several friends.
So, when I decided to dust off a 3K historical romance to put on Amazon my
first call was to her. I wasn’t surprised when she took the project, tiny as it
is, on. I wasn’t surprised she didn’t touch my voice or style. She
improved them where needed while keeping true to the story. This was exactly
what I was looking for in an editor.
After several rounds, first content then line edits, I had a
story I could proudly put up on Amazon. What I liked about working with her is just that...we worked
as a team. She’d question something, I’d reply and vice versa.
Because of the professionalism she showed on A Special English Rose, I called on her for a much
larger project. I had three historical romances that I wanted to submit to a
publisher. All the stories were written several years ago and were sorely in
need of help. Knowing the importance of getting the contract, I contacted
Nia again and she agreed to take on this much larger project. Needless to say
the book, Love and War, sold and will be
released in December.
As of this date, July 13, 2012 Nia has another short story
she’s editing for me and shortly will have another. Both of these I will again self-publish.
If you’re looking for a highly trained and professional
individual to help you edit, either before submission to a publisher or so you
can self-publish, then I strongly recommend Nia Shay. Oh, and her fees are reasonable. You definitely get
more than what you pay for with her.
